Hi I'm David

I grew up in Indiana. I played basketball on my high school team and was baptized when I was 16 years old. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to travel. My wife and I have been to many amazing places, including Japan, Peru, Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska. We also love to go as a family to Disneyland and feeling like kids again ourselves. We have four children under 4, all boys with two of them being fraternal twins! We love being parents! It's an amazing adventure everyday raising children and seeing them grow up. In my profession, I am a licensed accountant. As as accountant, busy season is a difficult time to be away from family working late hours. I'm so grateful for my wife's support during those late hours.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 16 years old. My aunt, who is a member of the Church, sent me a magazine published by the Church called the New Era. When I read it, I had a really good feeling in my heart. I knew what was written in that magazine was meant for me. I contacted the missionaries, and they taught me about Jesus Christ and how He loves all of us. They taught me about the Prophet Joseph Smith and how Jesus Christ told him that His true Church would be restored through him. They gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon, and when I read it, I knew it was the word of God. I was baptized soon after I knew the Book of Mormon was of God. I am so grateful to be a Mormon and for the guidance I have in my life to live forever with my family in the presence of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

One of my main responsibilities as a Mormon is to reach out to others. Each month, I visit families in my area that need help and assistance. For example, I am currently helping one family find employment. I also help Youth ages 12 to 18 years in my area build greater faith in Jesus Christ by encouraging them to read their scriptures, pray, and attend Church. I love reaching out to others and helping them draw closer to their Savior.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

David
The beautiful world around me helps me know that God lives. When I see the leaves changing in the fall and the beautiful flowers in the spring, I am reminded of God's love. Recently, having our fourth son, I was reminded of the miracle of birth. The feelings I had when he was born reminded me that God lives. All things testify that God lives. Show more Show less
