Hi I'm Lanita

I live in Colorado with my husband and three sons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington state where I was the oldest of 4 girls. After graduating with a 2 year degree from college, I married my best friend and then, in turn, became a mother--to 3 boys! Financially we are able to swing it so that I can be home everyday raising our boys. How nice this has been for our family. They do keep me hopping! I love spending time with my family, going on walks, and curling up to a good book.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many reasons why I love being a Mormon. I'm so grateful to know who I am and why I am here. Christ, who is the center of everything, is the center of our church. What peace it brings to know that He has not left us here to fend for ourselves, that we have the gift of the Holy Ghost as well as a living prophet to lead and guide us. I know that as I follow the prophet and keep God's commandments, I will be happy. I know that my Heavenly Father knows me personally, that he knows what is best for me, and that he does want me to be happy. I know I can turn to him for peace, comfort, and guidance which is such a blessing, especially during these trying times. There is a purpose to our lives and there is a way to find peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

In my congregation I get to teach our little children music. We sing wonderful songs that teach about the Savior and about the gospel. I enjoy working with the children and soaking in their enthusiasm and love. Another way I live my faith is by trying to look outside myself, hopefully on a daily basis, to think of someone who might need a little pick-me-up. Whether it's a phone call, a note sent, or goodies dropped off, it's nice to serve someone else and be our Savior's hands.
