Hi I'm Becky

I grew up in Texas and I was home schooled. My goal in life is to build a shipping container house. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am fascinated by the idea of living off the land. I want to incorporate new technologies, or modify classic ones to enable me to have a green home, that is independent. Shipping containers will be my first step. My other hobbies include marrying science with religion within my own understanding, and studying politics and how economies work.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith is just like the other Christian faiths of the world only with a load more detail. I believe that Father in Heaven wants us to understand who he has asked us to worship. He has proven this by all the tantalizing references and clues He's given about His nature. I believe that it is vitally important for us, His children, to understand our own selves and the purpose of mortality. We are here to learn how to command our natures. I believe that "in our image" means that we don't just look like The Father but we in fact have all the same potential. I believe that God the Father, in his perfection, can not ignore justice; hence the reason why sin cannot be tolerated in the smallest degree. Because of this I believe that Jesus the Christ was sent, in his perfection, to pay our debt to justice. In return he purchased our souls from inevitable, eternal separation from our Father. I am a Mormon because I am taught to learn for myself all that I can. Not just accept what I'm given. I have studied, and asked, and wondered about hundreds of things and I have logically, and spiritually deduced, for myself, through the Holy Spirit's confirmation this denomination is true. It makes sense. It is guided by God. This is where I belong.

How I live my faith

I live through study. I am very much a logical person. I view life as black and white, positive and negative, yes's and no's. If anything appears to be gray then, to me, it is only because the imperfect human nature doesn't know the true dynamics of the situation. Because of this I need to study and learn and educate myself. This is my number one favorite hobby. Researching things of the spirit. When I learn something new I write a "talk" or essay on that topic and file it away for future reference. I also enjoy teaching others what I know, and I involve myself in deep conversations with those friends that enjoy learning like I do.
