Hi I'm Christopher

I'm a longboarder, rock climber, a future doctor, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

How to describe me...? I have a very random and diverse set of talents and abilities that I love sharing with the people all around me. I have a very unique group of friends because of all the many things that I enjoy. My life has been filled with anything from singing in a choir to going 30mph down hills on a longboard. I grew up in the mountains of northern Utah and love to be outside. Skiing, hiking, rock climbing, and trying to be a photographer are just a few of the things that I love about being in this beautiful world! I love doing impressions of people and things. I love doing gymnastics and have tried my hand at parkour (urban gymnastics). Currently though, I am serving as a full time missionary in the Florida, Jacksonville Mission! Being a missionary is an amazing experience! It is well worth leaving everything else behind while I work to serve the Lord!

Why I am a Mormon

I guess you could say that the reason that I'm a Mormon is very similar to why the church is often referred to as "The Mormon Church", that is because I have come to believe wholeheartedly in the words, teachings, and scriptures in The Book of Mormon. As I read from its pages I find the strength to leave behind the weaknesses of the past and build up my defenses to face the future in a world that is ever more complex and dangerous in a physical and spiritual sense. Through my experiences with life thus far I have realized my very limited capability to act on my own and have things turn out the way I want them to. I must rely on the Lord and follow His way so that I can be the person the I want to be. I'm a "Mormon" because it is what honestly keeps me happy. I have noticed the decrease in my happiness and peace always comes right after a decrease in my personal application of gospel principles. As I live according to the teachings of our Savior the peace and love that comes from the gospel streams into my life. This life is really just about giving our will to Him and doing all the things he asks of us. I am striving to be more like my Savior. I know by following His example I'll be happy in this life as well as after this life is over. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in all that I do. Especially as a missionary. I know that I am imperfect and make mistakes every day, but I know that there is a way for me to improve and be better! I am so very thankful for the Atonement that provides a way for me to repent and come closer to my Savior. I try to serve those around me as I go about my day. I feel so much happier when I can do something for somebody else. I love sharing the joy that comes from being a part of this wonderful Church!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Christopher
We as missionaries and members of this Church have a purpose. That is to bring others to Jesus Christ through building faith, preaching repentance, performing baptism with the restored Priesthood authority, and giving the gift of the Holy Ghost to help lead and guide our lives while we endure to the end! We share what we know because it is a knowledge that the world is sadly ignorant of. We have a living Prophet who leads under the direction of Jesus Christ. We need and desire to share our knowledge of Him with everyone we meet. Show more Show less
