Hi I'm David

I'm a genealogy buff and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoyed hunting growing up, and almost all sports. I lived out in the country on a dairy farm. My junior and senior year of highschool I drove a school bus for $35 a month. After graduating highschool I attended Force Ranger school where I met my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

When I met my wife she introduced me to the missionaries and they taught me in her home. I was baptized and confirmed a member of the church the 13th of July, 1968. Some of the things that caught my interest was that none of the ministry in the church received payment for their service, and also that there was priesthood authority again on the earth. In 1972 we drove out to Salt Lake City with a 29 month old son, and a 6 week old daughter. My son wanted to stay in the "moo-tals" on the trip. I was very impressed with the painted deserts. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, and that a prophet of God stands at the head of it at this time. Therefore, I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet and restored this gospel under the direction of heavenly messengers. I know he brought forth and translated the Book of Mormon, and it is a second witness of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ, our Savior, came to this earth, atoned for our sins, and was resurrected, and is truly living today. I know that as we make covenants and enter into ordinances that we can return to the presence of our Heavenly Father, and our families can have that oppurtunity as well. Our families can be together forever. I believe in personal revelation. I believe that we can receive revelation for ourselves as well as the things over which we have stewardship. I know our Heavenly Father lives.

How I live my faith

I participate in meetings and attend the temple. I enjoy hometeaching the families assigned to me. I enjoy working in the family history center.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

We are able to learm the gospel better by serving others. As we fulfill our callings, we have to understand how to perform our duties and learn our responsibilities. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood gives us the power and authority to act in the name of God. We are able to give blessings to those that are sick as well as give blessings to our family members. It allows us to perform miracles just like Jesus Christ did in His day. Show more Show less
