Hi I'm Mack

I grew up in Iowa, and now live in Colorado, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of 8 kids in our blended family; four hers, three mine, and one ours. I work for an engineering/manufacturing company and in my not-much-spare-time I love to camp and hike in the Rocky Mountains, manage to fish about once a year, and mountain bike. I also follow NASCAR and local car racing when I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been an active member of the Mormon church, but not always active in the gospel. What I mean is I would go to the meetings, but not think about it until the next week rolled around. It was not until my life was on the rocks that I realized that if I actually became active in the gospel, meaning living the gospel, reading the scriptures, trying to better my self spiritually each day, that all would be well and I could be happy. This happened soon after my divorce. I was feeling very sorry for myself having a fractured family and major finical problems. I was not suicidal, but saw no reason for my life. One very early Sunday morning, one of my teenage daughters called me and asked if I could take her to church. She was living with her mother and it meant immediately taking off across town and picking her up and racing to church which started at 8 AM. When we got there I realized it was fast & testimony meeting; this is where on the first Sunday of each month the member can voluntarily stand up and bear their testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was just sitting there thinking of the hole I was in financially, and spiritually. Then it hit me; I realized that if I put my trust in Jesus Christ and became active in the gospel, that all would be well and I could feel happy again! That day I stood and bore my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of the atonement. My life now is richly blessed.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as "Ward Clerk". Some of my responsibilities are to record and deposit the tithes and offerings, and pay for the church expenses. I do this under the direction of the Bishop, who is the leader of the Ward (congregation).
