Hi I'm Allison

I grew up in Colorado. I love spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 6 kids. Our house is a little wild and crazy, but we love it! We have a new baby in our family right now and he has brought so much joy into our home. Everyone loves the baby! I have been so proud of the kids as they have helped with everything that needs to be done around the house so that I can spend time that I need to with the baby. They are great kids, and I feel so blessed to be their mom. My husband is able to work from home and we all love the fact that he is here all the time. We try to let him work, but the kids sneak in to see their dad quite a bit. My husband and I love it when everyone is home and we can do something together as a family. We love working together, playing games, watching movies and going on vacations. We also enjoy spending time with our extended family. The kids ask every day when can they go to see Grandma and Grandpa. One set of Grandparents lives close, and the other lives farther away, but the kids count down the days to see them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have found out for myself that the gospel is true. I read the Book of Mormon with my family when I was younger. I felt really good when I read it. I felt it was a true book. I prayed that I would know if it was really true. After I prayed I felt such a peace and happiness inside. I knew that was God's way of telling me that the Book of Mormon was true. I also felt peace and happiness when I tried to obey the commandments and follow the Savoir. When I did things that were not right I felt depressed and confused. I want to feel happy. I want peace in my life. Being a member of God's church and trying to do what is right brings me peace and happiness. I know that God lives. I know that He loves and knows each of us personally. I know that He knows of my struggles and needs. I know that He gives me strength and helps me to do what I need to. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savoir and Redeemer. He died and atoned for my sins and made it possible for me to live with my Father in Heaven some day. I know that Joseph Smith restored God's church in our day. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson, who leads and guides us under the direction of Jesus Christ. I know these things are true because I have prayed them. The Holy Ghost has testified to my heart that they are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do what is right. I am not perfect, and make many mistakes, but when I am trying, I feel like I am moving forward. When I pray, read my scriptures, and serve others, I feel good. I want to keep that feeling all the time. In church, I have been asked to work with children. I enjoy this work so much! Children are so honest and pure. They are valiant and courageous. They love the Lord and want to please Him. It is easy to see why the Savoir told us to become like little children. I am called to teach and work with children. But I feel that I learn way more from them. They love without questioning, they share without reserve, and they instinctively follow Christ. I want to be more like them. They are great examples to me. As I help organize their classes and activities, I feel grateful that I get to work with them. It is also wonderful to be able to work with my own children. I love watching them learn and grow. Serving in church makes me feel that I am giving back to the Lord. Even though my contribution is small compared to all He has given me, it makes me feel good.
