Hi I'm Haley Patterson

I was raised in Louisiana. I have a food blog. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom and a wife that has a serious addiction to The Food Network!!! I love to cook, swim, play basketball and try my hand in photography. I have 3 wonderful kids, 2 boys and a girl. I went to culinary arts school and have always enjoyed food and how it brings families together. I grew up in Louisiana but moved to the west coast for better job opportunities for my husband. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching life through my kids' eyes.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a little girl I ordered a bible off of the t.v for my little sister and 2 missionaries showed up to my door....I thought I was in trouble, but little did I know that they would change mine and my families lives forever. I found myself at a young age making the choice to become a member of this church and I have to say it was the best decision for me. This gospel has been the foundation that has held my life together as a teenager. I felt truly blessed that I was able to have the gospel in my life to lead me through the tough teenage years. I have come to realize that by obeying the teachings of the gospel that things work out better. I continue to live this gospel because I believe truly and honestly that it will get me closer to my Heavenly Father and the things he has in store for me. I love this gospel and I love the way it brings me closer to being a better daughter of God.

How I live my faith

I absolutely LOVE the youth, especially those Young Women that I work with in my ward. I love having the calling as an Advisor in the Young Women, it gets me close to those special spirits that the Lord has saved for these Latter Days. Working with these young women makes me want to be a better person.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Haley Patterson
I feel that the way we dress is how we feel about ourselves and how we let others "see" us. We should always dress modestly so not to give others the wrong idea about our character. Our bodies are our temples and we should not defile that by inappropriate dress. And if we keep ourselves modest we will remember to be chaste and to save sacred things for our marriages. I think that we can teach our kids by example and if we have respect for ourselves they will have respect for their bodies as well. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Haley Patterson
I feel that the best way to get to know someone is by going to that person, so it is the same to get to know our Heavenly Father. Go to him. Talk to him through prayer. Study his words and what the apostles and prophets have to say about him. But most of all develop a personal relationship with him. Show more Show less
