Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in a small town in Nevada, married by high school sweetheart, lived in arizona for 22 yrs and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 2 beautiful daughters, both are married to terrific men and have blessed us with 6 grandchildren. Five grandsons and one granddaughter, that have become the joy of my life. I enjoy reading, although I haven't done much of that in the last few years. I enjoy traveling, being with people, walking, biking, and the outdoors. Gardening is a new interest that I am developing.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is an integral part of my life. The covenants that I have made have been a lifesaver to me. My husband of 33 years passed away 6 months ago from ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. I live the plan of salvation on a daily basis. I feel my outlook or eternal perspective has enlarged. My faith is anchored in Christ and his atoning sacrifice that has made it possible that someday i will feel complete again. I know that not only does He live, but there is live after death and families can be together forever by following in His footsteps. This knowledge provides me with the hope I need to live my life in a way that will honor my Savior.

How I live my faith

I serve with Young Woman ages 12-18 years old. I feel this is a privilege and an honor to do. On Sunday we have lessons that focus on our Savior, Jesus Christ. We also meet on Wednesday to experience wholesome activities with each other and with young men of the same age. Serving these young women brings excitement because this is an amazing time of life. There are lots of opportunities to enjoy each other and to visit about life and their hopes and dreams. This service brings joy to my life.
