Hi I'm Deanna

I grew up in Seattle. I joined the church as an adult. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like computers, crafts, and reading. I'm a single mom of two boys. I have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. I have been to Tanzania, Mexico, and Canada. I used to be in a competitive marching band as part of the flag team (colorguard). I am a lifetime Girl Scout member.

Why I am a Mormon

I had a friend at work who is a Mormon. We talked about the church some. I was having a crisis of sorts and wanted to talk to someone about it. My pastor's dad had just died, so I didn't want to go to him. My friend offered to see if his bishop would talk to me. His bishop said yes and we met. We met several times and he helped me with my problem. I was touched by his concern and time spent helping me, especially since I didn't even live in his area. Eventually he asked if I would like to learn more about the church. I hesitated. He asked me what kind of man I hoped to marry some day (I was going through my divorce with my first husband at the time) and how I wanted to raise my son. This got me thinking. I decided I would consider learning more. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to learn, and then I started to see conversion as a possibility. I visited with a former neighbor that is a Mormon, and then agreed to learn more. As I learned more I felt better and better about the decision. My mom was opposed, but I got the definite feeling that my grandmother (who had died) approved, and I felt in my heart that it was the right decision, so I got baptized.

How I live my faith

I lead music for the women at church. I try to be a good person, employee, and mother.
