Hi I'm Kerry.

I'm an adventurous individual and I am in the process of discovering a whole new universe around me... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm fifty-one years old. I spent most of my life growing up in the great white north of the Yukon. I've had many different careers. I've been employed as a peace officer. I've been a professional soldier, and a commercial scuba diver. Currently I am employed as a service manager in the automotive industry. My hobbies: I collect swords, play the guitar, am an avid science fiction buff, and enjoy working out on a regular basis. I also enjoy doing Kata, which is a lot of different movements to learn to use the swords offensively and defensively. I've always believed that defense by the sword is very honorable combat. I am fascinated by the Knight's Templar.

Why I am a Mormon

I spent a lot of my younger life trying to figure out who I was, why I'm here, and what my origins were. I always believed in a Newtonian universe. I believed that our creation was a random convergence of matter and energy and I believed that the universe was created by the Big Bang. I originally started to attend the church to support my wife who was attending. I found that after taking many gospel lessons things began to make more sense and something inside started to change in a very positive way. I began to feel the Spirit. I then began to attend church for my sake and not my wife's sake. I began my long journey down that road to Damascus. I was baptized after two years of attendance, when I decide to make a full commitment. Shortly after that I received the Priesthood and recently I went through the Temple. My wife and I were married in the Temple for time and eternity. I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ as it has improved my life beyond words. More importantly I now know who I am, why I'm here, and most importantly where I'm going. It has strengthened my marriage. It has renewed my faith in mankind, and through the light of Christ has made me the man I want to be. I now believe in charity, tolerance, mercy, and most of all it has opened my heart to the most important aspects of love, for my fellowman and for my Saviour.

How I live my faith

I participate in teaching lessons during church. I try to set an example for my fellow church members by the way I carry myself and also for those visiting the church. In society I represent the church by being an honest, straightforward individual especially in the industry I work in. I have served in a few different callings in the church, and I enjoyed each one. I am looking forward to more callings that Heavenly Father feels I am ready for. The church and more specifically the priesthood is a brotherhood, speaking from a man's point of view, that brings out the finest aspects of man.
