Hi I'm Patti

I grew up in Ohio, and Utah. I am a convert to the church. Hablo español. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 3, a teenage boy and girl and a 2 year old boy. I work full time as a secretary. My husband taught me to speak fluent spanish. I love to read and to facebook. My most favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. I love to cook and to can food.

Why I am a Mormon

My father moved my family from Ohio to Utah when I was 12. I was the new kid in class and was told by well meaning family members that I should stay away from those "mormons". My family was never religious. A couple of girls in my class were trying to get another girl in the class to go to church. I kept saying things like " Gee it would be nice to be able to go to church". One day out of desperation the girls looked at me and asked me to go to church. I accepted. A couple of months later I was baptized. I became inactive after I graduated from High School. I married and had children. Years later I moved into a church ward that helped me to go back to church. It wasn't easy but it was worth it. My husband and older kids are now baptized. My life went from a struggle to suddenly everything falling into place. We still have problems like anyone else, but our family has never been closer. I am a Mormon because I know that this church is true. I know that it has blessed me and my family.

How I live my faith

I am a Sunday school teacher to the 8 year olds. I have never seen a church where the children know so much about their own religion. They amaze me and teach me more then I teach them I think. I am also a visiting teacher. Every month another woman in our church go around to the other women in our church to see how they are doing. We help them with anything they might need. We give them a short message to help them throughout the month. Our church is always helping others. All you do is have to ask and you will have a house full of member helping with what ever is needed.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Patti
I love my husband and want to be with him forever, not just until death do us part. We have been given a way for us to be able to be together with our children for eternity. I know that my family will be together not just on earth but also in the next life. This is an important truth for me. Show more Show less
