Hi I'm Derrick

I'm a Mormon, a dad, a husband, and we live in arizona.

About Me

I am a father of four and have been married for 17 years. We have lived in Arizona for 12 years and love the outdoors. I enjoy travel also and family vacations. I have been a Mormon my entire life and was baptized when I was 8 years old. We have great neighbors that are of many faiths and different family situations. It is great to share ideas and recognize how God loves us all.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized as an 8 year old. I knew at that time that it was important, but didn't have a lot of knowledge of the doctrine. As I grew I participated in church events and groups as my knowledge and conversion grew. I have continued in the church because I love the feeling I have in my home as we try and live the gospel standards. Peace is hard to find in life sometimes, but the peace that comes from obeying the commandments and adds to my testimony. My family has been greatly blessed by living the gospel in our home.

How I live my faith

I have spent the last 4-5 years working with the youth. Using the opportunities that I get in the outdoors with the scouts gives me the chance to help them understand their relationship as children of God. As a father we try to read the scriptures and pray as a family each day and have found increased peace and happiness in our home. It is comforting to know that I have a wife and kids that are trying their best at being obedient also.
