Hi I'm Susan

I'm from California and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Southern California, I am the the fourth child out of five. I met my husband in 2004 and we were married in 2007. We welcomed our first child in May of 2012. I am grateful for my husband who encouraged me to go back to school to get my bachelor's degree. We recently moved to Texas for my husband's job and happy to call Texas home. My family means the most to me, and I enjoy spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon faith, my parents taught me all they could have and are great examples to me. As a teenager I wanted to know for myself that the church is the true church of Christ. I prayed to Heavenly Father and asked, I felt the same feeling as I did before in my heart and knew that my prayer was answered. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am grateful for his atonement. I have experienced physical, emotional and spiritual challenges in my life. I know that without the knowledge and understanding that I have gain being a Mormon that these challenges would have been a lot harder to overcome. I know that the book of Mormon is another testament of Christ. I know that we have a living prophet on earth today (just as they did in the Bible) who leads our church. I know that this church is true and I know that as I strive to be more Christlike that I will be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and my family forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making my home a place where the spirit dwells. I do my best to be an example of Christ, by serving others.

What is faith?

Susan
To have faith is to “hope for things which are not seen, which are true” (see Book of Mormon, Alma 32:21 and Hebrews 11:1). Each day you act upon things you hope for, even before you see the end result. This is similar to faith. Faith in God is more than a theoretical belief in Him. To have faith in God is to trust Him, to have confidence in Him, and to be willing to act on your belief in Him. It is a principle of action and power. The Book of Mormon prophet Alma compared faith to a seed. If you plant a seed and nourish it, if it is a good seed it will grow and eventually bear fruit (Alma 32:28-43). It is the same with faith. If you are obedient to God’s commandments, study His word, and have a desire to believe in Christ, faith will grow inside of you. Show more Show less
