Hi I'm Bruce

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my High School Sweetheart for 37 years. We have five children and nine grandchildren. I have enjoyed sports my whole life, football, basketball, track, baseball, and golf. I enjoy playing golf each week and my wife thinks I love the game more than her but that's not true. Barb is my eternal companion and I love being with her and doing things together especially going on trips together.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a loving home but with no spirituality. I learned about a God from a loving Grandmother and started to say prayers at the end of each day. After being married to Barb for a year we were asked by a friend to listen to missionaries about the restoration of the Lord's Church. We did and we had many questions that were answered. When asked to be baptized I could not deny the feeling I received and asked to be baptized. I look back now and see all the many blessing we received by being members of the Lords Church and know that we made the right choice.

How I live my faith

Learning and growing and being there for others about sums it up. To be a little more specific after baptism I took upon myself the name of Christ and needed to learn of Him and His attributes. I do this by attending church meetings and doing home study. Keeping the commandments is another part of the baptism covenant and each day I try and do so. Repentance is part of the Lord's Church and after I recognize my faults I get on my knees and ask forgiveness and then make changes in my life. Service is another part of the Lords Church and I look for ways to serve in the Church and in the community. The Bishop calls members to leadership and teaching position and I have held many callings over the years. I believe these callings have given me the confidence to further my working career. I also hope that I have touch a few lives along the way. Sharing the Gospel is another part of the Lord's Church and I hope that all who reads this has a desire to learn more and enjoy the blessings of the fullness of the gospel like we have. Lastly, I will say that we research our ancestors and attend the Portland Temple to do sacred work there. When I first started to do this research I found that I had past ansestors that were member of the early Church. This was exciting to me and made me want to learn more.
