Hi I'm Jessi

I'm the sixth of eleven children! I'm a wife and mother. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 4 beautiful kids. I have a bachelors degree in English. I have worked as a proofreader. It was extremely boring. My full time job now is being a mother. It is the hardest and most rewarding job ever! I did a study abroad in Paris and traveled around Europe (ten years ago)! I like to speak French, and I am learning bits of Spanish from my husband who grew up in Venezuela. I love volunteering in my kids school. I love meeting new people. I love children. I like to travel and explore new places. I love learning about different people and cultures. I love to read. I like to express myself through writing and singing. I like to run. I love the outdoors. I love Indian food. I like finding new and delicious recipes. I like to bake. I love spending time with and taking care of my kids and my husband. We like taking walks together, going swimming and just being together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, but I have chosen for myself to be a Mormon and live the standards of the church. I am a Mormon because the principles and teachings of the church bring me peace. Living the standards of the church makes me happy. I know that Jesus Christ lives and he loves me, and because of him, I can be forgiven of my sins, and I can live with my family forever. I know that life is not always easy, but that God knows me and has a plan for me. He will help me through whatever challenges come my way. I am grateful to know that this life is not the sum of my existence. I lived before I came to earth, and I will continue to live after I die. This knowledge helps to put life into perspective.

How I live my faith

We teach our children about Jesus Christ and his gospel. We teach them that when they have a problem, they can pray to Heavenly Father, and he will help them. We read the Book of Mormon and pray as a family every day. Every Monday night we have family night, where we teach our children about the Savior and sing songs and play games together. We go to church every Sunday. I visit a few women at church every month and share a spiritual message with them. I talk with them and see if there is any way I can help them. Some of the ways that I can help them are: listening, being a friend, taking care of children, taking a meal to them. I also work with the children at church. I help to organize Sunday school for the children. I love being able to visit with the kids and feel of their love. I also help with the choir. I love sharing my testimony of Jesus Christ through music. I love what our church teaches about the "worth of a soul," or the great importance of each person on the earth. I try to help people feel of their great worth by being kind and friendly and treating them with respect and dignity.
