Hi I'm Jumi

I am from south korea. I like to share love with others through music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in south korea. i am in college to study the violin. I have played the violin since i was 8 years old. i have a passion for music because Music has been a great teacher to me to learn a lot of things that i want and need to.. like being patient, loving people, understanding, diligence..... i used to teach people the violin. it was really fun job! I really enjoyed it because it has helped me in so many way to develop my technique. I like going to the library and reading a book. Whenever i go there I feel like I am in the candy store. it gives me excitement and happiness. I love ICE CREAM in and out of season. Needless to say I love my family so much. I am the older sister to my brother. my family have been a blessing to me. Because they are always with me and help, support me.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I have been a member of the church of Jesus christ of latter day saints is because I have enjoyed living with understading of the plan of happiness. It brings me hope, happiness and confidence for myself. I am really easy to get depressed and discouraged whenever I feel like no matter how hard I try, It will never be enough. But as I live by the teachings of the prophets, It comforts me and helps me to realize that the savior, Jesus christ is always with me. In fact, because i was born and raised in mormon church, I had not had any experience about other churches. So as I grew up and hung out with non member friends, I started wondering why I am a mormon and what benifit I could have from mormon church. So I wanted to find out the truth. I decided to read the book of mormon daily, write down my feeling in my journal as I ponder and pray. The answer to my prayer had not come right away. But I had desired and sincerely sought to understand the book of mormon and then later, looking back on my experience, I felt that the savior had indeed come to be with me not all at once but quietly, gently, almost unnoticed. I truly came to know that the book of mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. And the teachings of the church has not only taught me jesus christ, his ministry or his atoning sacrifice, but also taught me how to live by it, how to follow and apply it to my life so that I can be better. Since i have been trying to keep the standard that church has required me and to live by the truths in the scriptures, I have been able to do my life's work with greater wisdom and skill and bear trials with greater courage. if i was not a mormon I would not have that much joy in my life.

How I live my faith

we have about 150 members in my ward. we have a great connection. I have enjoyed going to my ward. because I grew up in my ward almost my whole life. I used to play the piano at the sacrament meeting. It was really fun and helped me to use my talent often. and my calling was 2nd counsel of young women presidency. so I could get to know young women better and teach them about basic doctrines of the gospel. when i got this calling it was tough. because I was really shy and didn't have enough confidence to teach. but as I tried to do my best and understood that heavenly father could help me with this calling, I started to overcome my challenges. And I studied the scriptures go through semenary and institute of religion class. sometimes It was hard to go there and spend a time for the scriptures with my crazy schedule. but I know that whenever i feel like i could not do it, heavenly father always provided a way for me and that was a time to be able to exercise in my faith as well. I am grateful that I am a member of the church. no matter what situation i have, The teachings of the gospel has helped me a lot and made me want to have hope and willingness for the Lord.
