Hi I'm Vicki

I grew up in CA & WA and now live in SC. I'm a mom to 3 teenage boys. I love to play softball & work in my garden. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Vicki. I live in SC with my husband and our three teenage boys. I love being a wife and a mom. I am raising good, responsible and hard working children. I was a stay-at-home mom for many years and recently went back to school and got an accounting degree. I love to learn and share what I have learned with others. I have recently started a vegetable garden. I am enjoying watching everything grow and love to harvest and feed my family what we have grown. I play in a women's softball league to have fun and to get in better shape. I love to hear my family cheering for me as I play.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormon so that's how I was raised. I have always loved going to church and learning about Jesus Christ. When I was 21 I decided to serve a mission and teach others about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I knew that I would be challenging people to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it to know that it is true. I had never taken that challenge. I had read from the Book of Mormon all my life, but I had never read it cover to cover. I decided that I needed to do it before I went and taught others to do it also. When I finished reading I prayed to know for myself that it is true. The feeling that I got was that I already knew it was true, which I did. I grew up learning it and believing it. I didn't need a great spiritual experience to know that it was the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I have had that same witness many times throughout my life. I have felt the gentle promptings from my Heavenly Father in making decisions that affect my life and the lives of my family. My prayers have been answered many times in ways that I hadn't anticipated. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ I have learned how to be a better wife and mother. I have learned how to teach my children to be good kids and leaders among their peers. The gospel of Jesus Christ is what keeps me and my family centered. We know that we can be together forever so we try to have a peaceful home where the boys can become friends and not just brothers. We know that these family relationships can last forever if we remain faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day in everything I do. I pray daily for the safety of my family and to find opportunities to help others. I read my scriptures to feel close to my Savior and learn more about Him. I have faith in my Heavenly Father and try to put things in His hands. I strive to love others and treat them kindly. I enjoy talking to people. This is something that I have developed through the years. I was very shy growing up and didn't like to talk unless someone spoke to me first. I like to help people understand that they are children of God and as such they have great potential and can do anything that they set their minds to. I enjoy serving those around me. I have always been very active in the church and I do what I can to help out. I have worked with the children at church helping to teach them about Christ and helping them to build a relationship with Him. I have also worked extensively with the women in the church. I have been a teacher, worked in committees and I was the president of the women's organization. I also love to sing in the choir. I love to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone I come in contact with. I teach a Sunday School class for those that are learning about our church or have recently joined the church. I enjoy teaching them the basics of the gospel and teaching them how to come unto Christ. It's a joy to see the change that people make in their lives as they learn to follow Christ and as they learn that we are all Heavenly Father's children. I also live my faith by teaching my children correct principles. They are learning how to follow Christ and choose the right. They are learning to put their faith in the Lord and to do His will. My husband and I strive to have a Christ centered home so that it will be a place where everyone wants to be. They are learning to be good citizens and good young men that can be leaders among their peers.
