Hi I'm Kevin

I am a single parent of one child. I love to assist people.I volonteer regularly in a local homeless kitchen. I'm a Mormon. Really

About Me

I grew up in a typical family of 2 parents and 4 children. We we fortunate to travel to New Zealand when I was 12. Latter we moved across to NZ to live for 3 years. A great cultural learning experience. Not long after I finished school we returned to QLD. I have traveled extensively to Canada, USA, China and Hong Kong. I love meeting new cultures and relating to people, places, cultures and food !! I love to watch sports and used to play and coach football (soccer). My current interest is to ensure my family is blessed with a respect of people of diverse backgrounds, faiths and cultures. I regularly assist in the local community and ensure my family is involved in helping those less fortunate.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith was nutured by loving parents who taught me how to be a true Christian. Their lifetime of service to family, church and community has shown me the way to a happy and fulfilled life. My person testimony of a living god come from sincere pray and by following the moral principles the church teaches each week. Weekly attendance at church has brought me renewed strength during difficult times. We all struggle in life through a variety of trials but faith in god and obedience will bless us, our childern and generations to come. My experience has been enhanced by the amazing uniformity in the church across the world across cultures and languages. When I travel I know the church family is there for me. In this world of increasing uncertain values I know and I am taught true principles to living a great life. That is life of selfless service to others. This the way our savior Jesus Christ lived and why he and taught this principle to his followers. The church offers a high moral standard, which if lived can lead to happy and productive life. Don't be fooled by the shallow things of this world but rather seek for the spiritual knowledge and power which god freely gives to the ernest in heart. I hope my words inspire you to read more, study, ponder and pray so that you too can find great joy in this life and reap great blessings in this life and the next life with Jesus and our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

Troughout my life I have had numerous opportunities to use my talents by assisting those in need, visiting the sick, lonely and doing work for them. We have a unity of faithful people who reach out on a regular basis. They help me and I help them. The ideal way we should all live. Recently I have been involved at community level in assisting to feed the homeless. What an eye opener to see the lives of good people, who just need a hand, some food and a friend.

Are Mormons Christians?

Kevin
Good question and i find very common among my friends and especially those of other faiths. Well the correct name for the church is "The Church of Jesus of latter-day saints". This really sets up the church as Jesus Christs's. But how is this reflected in the what we teach. To begin with, the Church was restored by Joseph Smith in the latter days (recently). It is the same church that existed in the old and testaments. We teach from the Holy Bible every week and this the core of scriptures we use. So just as in ancient times, those who followed Christ were called Christians, we claim also to follow Jesus Christ and his teachings in the old and new testaments, therefore we are indeed Christians.
