About Me

I was born and raised in Colorado. I went to all my schooling here. I have 2 brothers and 3 sisters. I have many nieces and nephews. My parents are still alive. I was married and divorced. I remarried and my second wife passed away in 2008. I remarried in 2009 and I have 8 children counting step-children. 4 boys and 4 girls. I have 7 grand kids. 5 boys and 2 girls. I played basketball and baseball all through school and 1 year at a Junior College. I have worked for the same company for 27 years. I am so blessed to have my family. My wife is an incredible support for me. I started officiating High School basketball in 1982 and worked in division II womens basketball for about 12 years. I enjoy outdoor activities and riding my bike. I love to travel a bit with my wife. I have been so blessed with good health and fortunate to have the 8 wonderful children in my life. Most of all I have been blessed with an incredible wife. She is such a great and wonderful woman. She is my support and such a hard working and smart and special woman. My life has taken a couple of turns. After being divorced and losing a spouse to death I have grown to be who I am now. I am so grateful to have all my family and especially my good wife in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents that were members of the church. We had 6 kids growing up and like many kids going to church was just a way of life. I always enjoyed the time with other kids my age at church. I learned a lot through my younger years, but it wasn't until a few years later that my testimony really grew. I was fortunate to go through the scouting program through church. It is a great opportunity. When I graduated High School I had the opportunity to play basketball and baseball at a Junior College. While there I wasn't going to church for about 3 months. One saturday I was invited by someone at church to attend a concert by a BYU singing group. At the end of the concert they had all the children sing"I am a child of God" That was very emotional to me. I started going back to my church meetings. After the year at college I came home. The Bishop called me in to ask me if I was considering going on a mission. I ended up not going because I thought it was too long of a time to be gone. I got married at age 21 and had 4 children and the marriage ended in a divorce. I met my 2nd wife in the singles program through the church. We were married for 16 years and she passed away from health issues early in 2008. I met my 3rd wife after I moved to a different ward. My testimony started to really grow in 1980 I had not been attending church for a couple of years again and I started back. I always knew that was where I needed to be. My first wife was converted and that was good. Going through a divorce and losing my 2nd wife was hard. I got through it because I knew that my Heavenly Father was with me all the way. I prayed and attended the Temple regularly. I had great support from family. To this day I feel so blessed to have the True Gospel in my life. I have also for over 30 years of my life been good at reading my scriptures every morning. The more times I read the Book of Mormon the more I learn and the more My Testimony grows.

How I live my faith

l have serve as a leader for our youth groups. I have been a clerk for our ward for several years. I have taught childrens Sunday School classes. I have also taught youth Sunday School classes. I have assisted others in our Stake young mens groups. I have worked with all the youth in service projects and to go on youth trips. We have what we call Home Teaching. Each member of our ward has a few families to visit each month and whenever is needed. We get to know them a little better and help them when needed. It has always been rewarding to get to know others more closely. My Sundays are always busy with Church activities and meetings. I do not go to the store or shopping on Sunday. If it is an emergency I will but The Sabbath day is The Lords day. We don't watch television on The Sabbath. I have always enjoyed football but a couple of years ago I decided to not do that anymore. We also like to visit others and family on The Sabbath. My wife is a leader for the womans organization in the church. I spend sometime with her visiting and helping others frequently. I am very faithful in reading my scripture alone and with my Wife. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father to have The true restored Gospel in my life. It has helped me to stay faithful to all that I know in my life.
