Hi I'm Rod

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, father of four great kids and grandfather to three wonderful grand children and one on the way. I'm employed as a product engineer for a high tech firm. I love to be with my family and enjoy sports, boating, fishing, and barbeques.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have a deep desire to follow the principles and teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. I want to live the type of life that will allow me to return and live with my Father in Heaven and with my family. It was through much study and prayer that I have felt the spirit of the Holy Ghost testify to me that this is the Church of our Father-in-Heaven, and it has been restored. One of those great blessings is to have a modern day Prophet here on the earth to lead and guide us, the same as those Prophets that live in the times of Noah, Moses, Abraham, etc. We live in a very challenging time, with morality declining, wars, economical challenges, etc. It is a strength to me to have the gospel in my life. To know that I have a Savior who loves me, cares about me and my family, and is there to inspire and direct my life through the feelings I get from the Holy Ghost. The gospel of Jesus Christ is real, the Savior Jesus Christ is real, his atonement is real, we can be forgiven of our sins, and be freed from the burdens that are associated with sin and not being on the path He has directed us to follow.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being a little kinder and patient each day, to resist getting upset or angry when I'm cut-off in traffic or those other things that can really get under our skin if we let them. I love participating in projects that help my community and those around me. Food Drives, Special Olympics, Community Fund Raisers, Habitat for Humanity, Eagle Projects, etc. Most recently I enjoyed working with the Habitat for Humanity, what a great program designed to bless families with a home they can call there own. I try to look for those opportunities to help those in need. It is when I'm involved in helping others that I feel the closest to our family in heaven. We are all brothers and sisters of our Heavenly Father so I feel good when I treat others as I would my own brothers and sisters. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have the privilege to associate with both the youth and adults, in our congregation. I consider myself blessed to help provide them guidance and counsel as they face life's challenges.
