Hi I'm Jarod

I have 2 kids a wife and one turtle. I have a colorful past. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently going to college and look forward to a career that will allow me to help those who have had challenges similar to those that I have faced. I used to mountain bike as a kid and look forward to getting back into it with my son. My family loves old T.V. shows, about the only kind you can watch with kids these days. I have an awesome wife that is rather crafty, in the good way, and that is simple like me, no not simple minded.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, my parents were baptized when I was 6, but left at 17 and explored what the "world" had to offer. After many run ins with the law, some ending in jail time, my future wife was able to steer me away from the influences in my life that were questionable at best. After my children were born I decided that they needed me to make some changes, I was constantly seeing areas of my life that needed improvement. I decided that I had tried almost everything, church. Long story short my wife was baptized 3 years ago my children were each baptized and we have all been sealed in the temple. The miracle of the Atonement is more and more real to me everyday. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ could bring peace and happiness to a life such as mine was.

How I live my faith

I have been called to teach in the church, I teach a class that is comprised of men from age to 19 to middle age or so. I also am an 11 year old assistant scout leader. Hometeaching is something that I try to do each month, I missed June, all my fault my companion is great. Other than that I make sure to read from the scriptures each day both on my own and with my family and pray a few times each day, again on my own and with my family. The biggest thing that I try to do, and I know I need more work, is to treat people the way that the Lord Jesus Christ would treat them. As a member of the church I have taken upon me His name and will one day have to account for what I did with it.
