Hi I'm Dianne

I'm a Wife, Mother, "Nana", and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother of 4 beautiful daughters, and grandmother to 14 wonderful grandchildren. I was a medical office worker/office manager for 25 years and am now taking a little time to "play" with family and friends. I am an avid reader, all types of literature, religious and other. My greatest joy in life is my family!

Why I am a Mormon

My husband and I were married very young. He was raised in the LDS Church and I was raised in the Christian Reformed Church. We decided to "ignore" religion for a while, but after the birth of our 1st daughter 3 years later I felt that something was missing in our lives and that we needed to turn our hearts back to Christ as we tried to raise our children. My husband had met with my previous pastor a few times but felt spiritually unfulfilled. Since I had questioned many things in my own church and the response was often "that is not for you to know" I needed to do some investigating to find the truth for myself. I told my husband I would meet with the LDS Missionaries to see if I could understand his beliefs better, but I would not join the church. I began meeting with the missionaries and they answered many of the questions I had been asking my pastor since I was a teen. I could not negate the spirit that filled my heart as I read the scriptures that the missionaries asked me to read, often with tears of joy and a spiritual feeling of warmth. I recognized that the church was true. I already knew in my heart that Jesus was the Christ, and now I knew so much more! That was 35 years ago and I have never looked back! Wherever we have lived we have a church family to either supplement or temporarily replace our families, and wherever we go the church is always the same, always true. I am so thankful that I am a member of this church. It has helped us to raise a wonderful family, and as our family has grown so has the joy!

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to have been able to do many different things in the church. I have been able to teach at many levels; young children, teens, and adults. These opportunities have taught me as much as my students, maybe more. I have made many wonderful friends as they come to visit me each month and I in turn visit some of them in the Visiting Teaching program. I try to share the gospel with friends and family by setting an example with my words and actions. This has lead others to ask questions about the church, and brought other members of my family to the gospel. They have watched as our family handles the ups and downs of life and this has lead them to investigate what the gospel might bring to their lives.
