Hi I'm Dan

I'm a husband, father, pre-med student, and follower of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The most important things in my life include relationships: my relationship with my Heavenly Father, my Savior and my family. I am married to my best friend and together we are parents of two beautiful daughters who remind me every day of the large capacity that each of us has to love. I am completing a bachelor’s degree while applying for medical school with the ultimate goal of working in pediatrics. I love sports: soccer, basketball, football, rock-climbing, and pretty much every activity outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught from wonderful parents that we are children of a loving Heavenly Father. I can remember at a very young age recognizing and feeling in my heart the Love of God. As I grew into adolescence I questioned many things, but I never doubted my relationship with Heavenly Father. As a teenager, I thought if Heavenly Father really loves me than he must want to help and guide me, he must love to communicate with me. I put to the test his promised blessing as we follow the principles and ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I noticed a direct correlation between living the gospel and experiencing true joy and peace. There is a confidence or hope that can only come from the Savior of the World. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s Church. The truthfulness of it can be tested by living the teachings found within. I am living them as best I can and I have been richly blessed for doing so. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am inspired by the perfect example of selfless service set by our Savior. I am far from perfect, but I desire to follow Christ's example in service to others. I serve with a group of adult men within the church. We council together weekly on how we can improve this desire to serve and love one another. We discuss ways that we can be better fathers, husbands and teachers of doctrines of the gospel. I know that in order to strengthen a community we must strengthen the families therein. This is my main focus as I serve within the church. As I said, I am not perfect, but I hope that as I interact with people each day that they can feel a part of the love that comes from the Savior. I live my faith by first, learning from the example and words of God, then acting upon the promptings that I receive, and finally sharing my testimony of the experiences that I have with my family, friends, and peers.
