Hi I'm Mikelle

i'm a runner, a favorite auntie, cupcake baker, and a bona fide zumba instructor. i'm a Mormon.

About Me

i'm a college student, majoring in lifestyle management and nutrition. i teach zumba and am on my way to becoming a personal trainer. this is all pretty ironic, because i have developed quite the liking for all things sweet, delicious, and unhealthy. there's no place i'd rather be than in my kitchen, baking cookies and cupcakes for unsuspecting neighbors, experimenting with recipes, and blasting my italian opera so the whole block can hear it. i sing in the shower, can never find my car keys, laugh until my stomach aches, and enjoy living life to the fullest.

Why I am a Mormon

i was born into an LDS family, and i've been that way ever since. but it wasn't until i moved to college that i really understood what it was to be a member of the LDS church. there, my standards, values, and beliefs were tried and tested. no one expected me to attend church, complete visiting teaching assignments, accept callings or register for institute. but i know that only true happiness comes through living the gospel. i am a mormon, simply because i know all of it is true. i believe it with all of my heart, mind, and soul. i am grateful for the atonement, and for the chance it gives me to become perfected through Christ and live with my Father in Heaven again. i believe that families are eternal. i believe in a 14-year old boy, who had enough faith to kneel down and say a simple prayer, and who took every challenge and trial in stride. and most of all, i believe that God lives, and i know that He loves me and has a plan for my eternal happiness. What greater thing can there be?

How I live my faith

i serve as the music chair for my singles ward, and i love it. music has always been close to my heart, and it is a universal language. i love the opportunity my calling gives me to share my love of music and its power with others. knowing that a simple tune can inspire, influence, and change lives- there's nothing better than that.
