Hi I'm Chuck Wood

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Chuck, and I am a husband and Father of 2 girls and 1 boy. My children are adults. My oldest is married with one child, my grandson. My son is going to school to be an accountant, and my youngest daughter is studying to be a nurse. I have a computer science degree and am a software engineer working in the Space and Defense industry. I enjoy fishing, hiking, backpacking, biking, and having fun with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and grandparents are Mormons, and I was raised in the church. However, I did not really gain a fervent belief in the gospel until after I was married. My good wife has been a great influence on me. I had a desire to know if the LDS church was true. So I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to my Father in Heaven and asked if the book and church were true. A warm feeling rushed over me, and I knew the Lord was answering my prayer. This is a continual process for me, to study and pray to keep and strengthen my faith.

How I live my faith

I serve in the church by helping organize combined youth activities for youth 12 to 18. I also am asked to speak in church meetings on a monthly basis at different congregations in the area on a gospel topic assigned by our local leaders. I also visit several families in their homes on a monthly basis and teach a gospel message. I participate on a Boy Scout committee and help plan and organize.
