Hi I'm Mike

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in many locations moving to better accommodate the next step in my life. I've lived in two countries and know two languages. I love movies, music and drawing. I'm a huge fan of the outdoors. I love to go camping, hiking, biking, etc. It doesn't happen as often as I'd prefer, but the chances that present themselves I snatch up and enjoy. Presently I'm a student working towards a degree in architecture. It is my dream to design and help build some of the beauties that we as a society live and work in.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a long line of members. So in part portions of what I believe have been passed down to me. As I got older, I began to transition from believing the doctrines taught because my family believed, to believing because I started to feel it was right. When I started to believe on my own, I would take the things my family taught me and try to find out why they believe it and how it could affect my life and why I should believe it. This is how I began to transition from believing to knowing, the process in which I began to obtain my own testimony of the doctrines taught by the church. I later decided to serve a mission. While preparing to leave, I realized that, thought I had prayed about other principles, I had never knelt and prayed to know specifically if the church was Christ’s true church, if Joseph Smith was a prophet sent by him, if the Book of Mormon was a true book of scripture and contained his doctrine. . So, I did. Shortly after asking these things, I received my answer. It came with a special peaceful feeling and confirmed to me that what I asked was true, and what I have been taught thus far was true. Through experiences obtained while growing up, going on a mission and up through the present, I have tried and tested different principles taught and through the guidance of the Holy Ghost, I've come to realize that not only is this the true church of Christ, the doctrine found therein are the purest of the gospel found on this earth. Through living the doctrines taught, I've found myself closer to Christ and our Heavenly Father than I have ever felt elsewhere in life. The doctrines taught are here to help us help ourselves and those around us grow closer together as families, friends and communities and most importantly to Christ and our Father in Heaven. I wouldn't trade these teachings for anything. They are what give me strength in my life to continue to the end to obtain my goal of living with God again joint with my family for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I participate in normal religious activities like attending church, reading the scriptures (including the Bible) and praying. I have helped members in my region by teaching an occasional class and by giving talks in our general meeting on Sundays. Beyond the church setting on Sundays, I strive to continue to live the doctrines taught by helping individuals in the community through small acts of service, donating blood to the hospitals in my area and donating things I no longer use to those in the community that are in need. I continue to strive to live what Christ taught to improve myself and become more like him. Later, after I've completed my degree, it's my hope to help beautify communities with buildings that are pleasing to the eye and help bring peace and sanity in the lives of those who use them.
