Hi I'm Denise

I was adopted into a Mormon family. Thankfully, I was raised by parents who loved God, their country and their fellow man.

About Me

I cherish time with my family and friends. I love to travel, especially to warm, sunny beaches in Hawaii, Mexico and Florida. I love taking road trips, listening to audio books in the car, cooking and quilting. Lunch with friends who make me laugh is always a special treat. I love life and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

My testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has proven to be the one constant in my life. Jobs change, children grow up, tragedies and disappointments occur, but having faith and hope requires a belief in something bigger than myself. Patterning my life after the Savior's example means that I am always striving to grow and improve my character. It is a slow process because I am human; but, I am grateful for my journey. I have found the Mormon Church to be a spiritual refuge, a place where I have learned to be a better parent, spouse and friend. I have made life-long friendships with people who truly care about others. Thanks to my membership in this wonderful church my life has meaning and purpose.

How I live my faith

I was given up for adoption as an infant. I was in foster care until I was 8 months old and adopted one year later. I grew up with two sisters, one foster sister, two brothers, a mom and a dad. I looked different than the rest of the family, but I was loved and had a happy childhood because of the kind of people my parents were. I grew up learning the gospel in my family's home. We were taught to keep the Commandments. Both of my parents loved the Church and their examples had a profound influence on me. We participated in wholesome activities in the community and at church. We were taught to choose friends who had high ideals and loved truth. We were rewarded for good behavior and good grades at school. I grew up wanting to please my parents because I loved and respected them so much. My husband and I have been married for 31 years and have done our best to raise our three children to be hard working, caring individuals who will contribute to the good of the communities they live and work in. At church, I have taught small children, teenagers and adults. I feel like each one of us is a work in progress and so I try not to ever give up on anyone. I know that God lives and knows who I am because He answers my prayers. I attribute any success to my faith in God.
