Hi I'm Janelle

I grew up in Salt Lake City. I went to college, met my best friend, got married, and now have 2 beautiful girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to have fun! There is always that last person to leave a party or a gathering,, while the host is trying to shove everyone out the door,,, yes that is me! I love going to movies, shopping, eating out, making desserts, trying new recipes, looking at blogs, decorating, planting flowers, sunsets, vacationing, and big family get togethers. My interests besides my kid's interests(lol) are music, technology, and preserving family memories. I worked in the social field for 10 years, before I began my family, providing services for adults with disabilities. I learned how to be patient and to serve others. This work has helped me learn how to be a better parent to my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family and grew up with the teachings of the Gospel from the Holy Bible and The Book of Mormon. I remember as a child experiencing a special feeling while at church and when my family talked about the gospel. As I grew older, I began to understand more of my Savior's life and teachings when I began to attend Seminary beginning my Freshman Year of High School. The first few pages of The Book of Mormon which describe Joseph Smith's testament of the book, speaks to me. I can't deny the feeling I have burning in my chest when I read these pages. My ancestors were pioneers who left England in the 1850's to join the church in Salt Lake City. Their experiences along the trail in the handcart company and sacrifices are constant reminders that the truth is worth everything. I am a mormon because of my belief in Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. I am a mormon because of the gospel principles and teachings of Christ that I want to teach my children. I am a mormon because I believe that families are forever.

How I live my faith

I am the music chair for our ward. This means I oversee the music in our meetings. I am also the ward choir director,, which I love! I feel a responsibility to bring a special feeling, or spirit, to our Sacrament Meetings by choosing from our sacred hymns. Righteous music speaks to our hearts and brings us closer to our Heavenly Father and Savior.
