Hi I'm Rob

I Iive in Los Angeles. I recently retired from a 30 year career in Law Enforcement. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado and love to ski and hike in the mountains which begs the question; why do I live in Arizona? Skiing is great here and hiking with the creepy crawly slithering desert dwellers is always interesting. I'm the father of three worderful children and eight grandchildren. I am retired and can't wait to go on a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful mormon family with two older brothers and one older sister. We were all actively involved in church activities throughout my life. When I was 16, my brother was killed in VietNam. A few years later my other brother was killed in a motorcycle crash. I struggled to understand why that had to happen and where they were. Through reading the Bible and Book of Mormon, church activities and personal prayer, I confirmed my own testimony of the Savior and His atoning sacrifice. I know that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I know that the Savior came into the world, laid down his life in the tomb and literally picked it up from the grave to open the door to eternal life unto all the children of men. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that God speaks to his prophet Thomas S. Monson on the earth today. I have an unshatterable faith and I know when I die, both of my brothers and other family members who have already passed on will be waiting for me on the other side. I know there is a beatiful eternal life waiting for all of Gods children when we are freed from the bonds of death. I am grateful to live the gospel standards in anticipation of that joyuos day. By abiding by the simple standards the Savior established I am accomplishing the goals I have set for myself in my life. Living the gospel standards has brought peace and harmony in my life here on earth.

How I live my faith

My life revolves around my faith in Jesus Christ. I consider being a priesthood holder the greatest gift and responsibility I could ever receive and requires honorable actions on my part to be worthy of this great blessing. In fact, I would never have chosen the career field I enjoyed for 30 years without knowing that as I am obedient to the commandments of God, He will protect me and my family. I find a great peace in attending the Temple and renewing covenants and promises I have made with my Heavenly Father. The serinity inside the Temple allows me to set aside the worries and troubles of the world for a short time and renew my spiritual testimony.
