Hi I'm Donna

I'm the wife of a retired Marine, mother of 4 grandmother of 5 soon to be 6 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Idaho but grew up in Southern Calif. as a result of my father;s military service. Graduated from High School; started college but didn't finish. I fell in love instead! I always wanted to be a wife and mother and because of the good man I married I had that dream Being a military family had many challenges but because our 4 children were the most important thing to us our focus was on them and their being raised in a loving, caring environment. With money being tight we spent our family time attending the childrens school activities; ball games; dance recitals; band concerts etc. One of our favorite activities was to stay at home watching movies and eating popcorn. Even now that I am a grandmother to 5 we still enjoy being together as a family and gather often, not just on holidays. I've served on PTA boards; in booster club positions; as class mom and school volunteer. I love to sing, read, cook and especially enjoy quiet time with my husband and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon becuse I was born a Mormon and have a rich pioneer heritage. I continue being a Mormon because I have sought for and received a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Christ is my Savior and that he knows me personally; my needs; my weaknesses and my challenges. This testimony gives me strength to meet meet and deal with the challenges of life and peace of mind knowing that if I remain faithful to the covenants and promises I've made with the Lord that I will live with him and my family for eternity. I find great joy and happiness in this promise.

How I live my faith

Being a good neighbor and friend; trying to live as Christ taught; by example, are the ways I live my faith. By not judging others at first glance but looking to the heart and remembering that we are all children of God. This is hard sometimes, I'll admit but as I work at getting better I find greater love for others. I work with the chldren in our church. Right now I have a leadership role but I also teach the childrens classes and enjoy re-learning Christs teachings. We are all asked to serve in our church in different "jobs" so I have a partner and together we visit 3 special sisters/ladies in our area. Through these visits we can stay connected to each other; know of needs or problems and hopefully meet those needs or direct them to someone else that can. I am not perfect but by striving each day to be a little better and keep my eyes on Christ I hope to be perfect someday.
