Hi I'm Dawson

I've never lived in Utah and didn't go to BYU and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a construction manager working for a federal military contractor. I went to school at the University of New Mexico. I enjoy football and soccer. My kids and I both play soccer now, and its something that we enjoy doing together. I like to camp, hike, and mountain bike. My wife keeps us on the go doing outdoor activities together as a family. I really enjoy football and I'm an huge Broncos fan.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church, my family goes back to the pioneers on both sides. My mom is a convert though. The Church has always been important to me, when I was younger my family moved and it became a comfort to always have friends in new areas that had similar interests and values as me. I served a mission in France, which was a great growing experience for me. I look back and think about that experience everyday of my life, I learned so much by serving. After my mission I had to continue to apply the things I taught to the test in my own life. Being a member of the Church makes you different and you stand out for those differences. I am thankful for my membership in the Church, it has given me protection from the many of the challenges that affect us all. I think of what and where my life would be without it and I rejoice in knowing that I am living the way that makes me the best individual that I can be.

How I live my faith

As a congregation we do many service projects, I find a lot of humility individually when I serve others. One of the great services that we get to give is Home Teaching, which is where we visit members that we are assigned to visit monthly. It gives us a chance to get to know others in our neighborhoods that we may not have taken the chance to talk with otherwise. It also makes you think and care about others more than yourself. It helps me to understand how I can help rather than thinking just about myself.
