Hi I'm Emily Diana

I love life, and I love the gospel.

About Me

I had lived in Washington State my entire life before I started going to college in Idaho. I am currently studying horticulture at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I'm kind of a geek and love science fiction. I can generally be found out having a good time with my friends and roommates. I also spend a lot of time outside, camping and hiking. I love the Pacific Northwest, the rain, and the culture. I love spending time out around Heavenly Father's creations; appreciating the beauty that we are all surrounded by. I recently returned from a mission in southern Brazil, where I was continually astonished by this beautiful earth that we live in, and the love that our Heavenly Father has for his children. As I continue to learn more about our Heavenly Father's creations I come to understand more about His perfect love for His children, and that we are each individually immensely important to Him.

Why I am a Mormon

For a long time I suppose I was a member of the church because I was born into it and I knew that I felt good when I was making decisions in my life that went along with church teachings. It wasn't until later that I really decided to think about why I was still a member, and why I wanted to be. When I made the decision to know for myself whether the church was really true I decided to test the word of the Lord. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to my Heavenly Father to know whether this was true and what I should do. I determined to follow the Lord in whichever way He directed me. Through that experience the Spirit was able to touch my heart and tell me that these things are true. It is still an on going process to perfect my faith, but I know that as long as I continue to move forward in the direction that the Spirit leads me that I will have true happiness in life. Now I can say that I am a Mormon because I want a better relationship with my Father in Heaven. I am a Mormon because I want to overcome the imperfections in my character that keep me from being like my Father in Heaven, and my Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because God loves me so much that he has given me the tools to be able to return to Him. I am a Mormon because it makes my life meaningful. I am a Mormon because life is beautiful, and the only way I can thank God for that is by living the way He wants me to. I am a Mormon because by living true to gospel principles I can come to know my God.

How I live my faith

As I prepare to serve a mission it has become more clear to me how important it is to share what I have been given with others. I love studying the scriptures and learning more about the gospel, but I think that the best way I choose to live my faith is by serving and helping to uplift those around me. Even though I am not always talking to others about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ I try to help them see the beauty in life, and keep a positive attitude and a broad perspective. I try to live my faith by following the example of the Savior by trying to love and serve those around me, and by showing gratitude for the blessings I am surrounded by. I know that I may not lead to everyone I come in contact with receiving the gospel of Jesus Christ, but I try to live my life in a way so that I can be a good representative of the Savior. I show my appreciation for the blessings that our Father in Heaven has given me by being happy, and cheerful to those around me. You cannot help others to be happy if you are not happy yourself, so I try to remember that my Father in Heaven has given me all that I have, and that what I have is enough. I try to help other see that they can find this happiness as well through the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
