Hi I'm Colby

I'm a convert and a full-time missionary!

About Me

I was converted to the gospel while enlisted in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) stationed in Uruma City, Okinawa, Japan. Active full-time missionaries didn't bring the gospel to me but my roommate and a true friend did. I knew at that moment it was true and I could not deny it. This came at a convenient time for I had recently discovered my father was diagnosed with ALS. Once the disease struck my father he became “bummed” and upset as his body was failing before him. After numerous visits with missionaries he received the fullness of the gospel and was baptized. Shortly after, Heavenly Father blessed me with the opportunity to ordain him to the office of Priest. The Holy Spirit was strong and he was undeniably in love with the gospel. In August 2013 my father passed through the veil in which he is now faithfully serving our Lord, Master, and Teacher Jesus Christ. Still today the vast majority of my family has not been overly supportive of my decision to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or to serve a full-time mission. However, I strive to continually set a good example for them. I was discharged from the USMC in October of 2012. I was then employed as a government contractor to support the United States Armed Services as well as Coalition Forces including: Italy, Germany, Australia, France and England.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because I know our father in heaven loves each and every one of us more than we could possibly imagine. I choose to be a Mormon because it has brought happiness beyond measure. Being a Mormon has brought many blessings of which I’ve seen in my life right away and some I had not noticed until years later. I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ is my savior and that this is his restored gospel in these latter days and this is how I may show my love for him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping my baptismal covenants made with our father in heaven. That covenant was a promise between God and I that I would keep his commandments and become part of his people and receive all the blessing of Abraham. It’s essential to feed the spirit in order to keep these covenants in today’s world that is polluted with filth. I feed the spirit by feasting in scriptures, obeying the Words of Wisdom, visiting historical church sites, and using the holy priesthood to uplift others.
