Hi I'm Janet

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mormon. I am a Mother, Grandmother and a retired Software Systems Engineer. I worked thirty years for a Company where I enjoyed working every day. I gained my education while working and while raising five small children as a single parent. The children are all grown now and I have ten grand children. I, personally, enjoy biking, golphing, camping, hiking, rafting, canoeing, cooking, sewing, knitting, painting and reading in my new retirement life. Most of all I enjoy writing, but not at the level of publishing books, as yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, or member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I spent many years reading all that I could find (positive and negative) about the Book of Mormon, the Church's Apostles and above all, the testimony, achievements, revelations, organizational capabilities. I have studied Joseph Smith and his life and received a personal confirmation that he is a Prophet of God. I have many times read the Bible along with the Book of Mormon. I have found Bible fits with the Book of Mormon. I found the Book of Mormon to provide even more knowledge of God, Jesus Christ, The Atonement, plan of salvation, life after death and our purpose here on Earth. With this knowledge, I found, through daily prayer and a continued stride toward obedience, we can receive a strong feeling of the spirit of the Holly Ghost. That Spirit testifies to me the Church's fundamental truths and that this is Jesus Christ's Gospel. I know God exists. That Christ lived and atoned for us. This Gospel is real as restored. I found God and His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, and know that each and everyone of us is known to Them - no matter how weak we are. They are there to answer, help, lift and carry us when we are in need. I have been a member of the church since my mid thirties when I personally needed to know if God was real. That is when I started to use personal prayer. As a single women, the church doctrine (Book of Mormon, D&C, current revelations thru conferences, church magazines, and Pearl of Great Price and the Bible) have guided and spiritually lifted me through many difficult life experiences. I have had personal revelations, insights, direction and guidance during critical times that can only have been given to me from a loving God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I depend on faith, prayer and reading scriptures daily to continually maintain spiritual help. I know that maintaining that spiritual lift depends on learning all I can about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost and trying to do as the doctrine of Jesus Christ asks. I enjoy listening to the BYU offered doctrinal discussions each morning. I am a Service Missionary and work at the Cannery. I am a visiting teacher and love the women I visit. I have held many positions in the Church over the years.
