Hi I'm Parker

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the pacific northwest and love my family, skiing, golf and food.

About Me

I am a family guy (I like the show by the way). My wife and kids come first, then my career. I love my job, I work with beans all day. I went to school for food industry management. I'm a middle class guy who gets frustrated sometimes, but tries to see the positive in things. If I could I would be a ski instructor or ski patrol, skiing is my passion. I love good food and like to cook.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon....there came a time though when I had to find out for myself if I wanted to be Mormon. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God just as much as the Bible. My testimony of Jesus and his atonement and sacrifice came from studying and pondering the words of the Book of Mormon and praying about its words. Nobody forced me to be Mormon. It was my choice and I will never regret it. I love the gospel of Christ and have seen it change lives. I served a mission in poverty stricken Detroit where I love the people there. This church truly changes lives. I'm by no means perfect, but when I do make mistakes and want to change, I believe the sacrifice of the Savior is real and can make me eventually perfect.

How I live my faith

I was given a recent assignment (we call it a "calling) to go to the prison every so often and teach Sunday School. I'm looking forward to this assignment. It makes me think of Christ when he was on the earth and taught the poor and even sometime criminals. People can change. My child will be attending a school of a different faith where I plan on volunteering every so often. I welcome other religions. I am very secure in mine and I know others will be able to see some light from me if I am living the kind of life God wants me to live.
