Why I am a Mormon

Since I was a little girl I always had a question in my mind... what is the purpose of life? I studied different religions and visited them. With much respect I listened to what they taught but that inner light was telling me something...I continued to search for the truth in many ways philosophy, history, ancient civilizations etc One day while I was finishing an art project I went to my drawing teacher's house across the street from mine to ask her for some help and felt the impression to pop that question: What is the purpose of life? She looked at me with eyes right open and asked me would you like to find out more about the purpose of life? "Come in and sit down" she said while she opened the book of Mormon. I do not remember exactly how many hours we spent talking about the book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and the golden plates. Why the book of Mormon was another testament of Jesus Christ? I took the book of Mormon home that night and read many chapters, the one that I remember the most is Joseph Smith History when Heavenly Father and Jesus appeared to Joseph in a pillar of light in the Sacred Grove. The feeling that I had was inexplicable... it was like I was there for a moment watching the event with my own eyes... the warm feeling I had inside was indescribable! I had never felt the power of the spirit so strong in my life. Tears run down my cheeks and my soul was finally fed with the truth for the first time. I remember telling my drawing teacher the following day that I wanted to be baptized! Two weeks later after receiving the talks from the missionaries I got baptized. I cannot express in words the joy that I felt that day even though my family was not there I know my ancestors were! That's how the story of my conversion began!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in Primary (the children's organization) as the Primary President. I enjoyed so much teaching these wonderful children and organizing Sunday teaching and events with my counselors and secretary. They are great examples to me! I also enjoy visiting teaching. Visiting teaching is an inspire calling to reach out each of the sisters in our ward monthly. Every member of the women organization (RS) is a visiting teacher so every sister gets that especial visit monthly. We bring a message from the Ensign (LDS magazine) and if you would like a especial treat! I personally love to bring something to the sisters I visit teach even though my companion is the one that makes the best treats! We enjoyed so much visiting with each other, talking about our children, our daily struggles as women etc.
