Hi I'm Kris

I'm a father of 5 children with 6 grandchildren. I've lived in 7 different countries. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family. Gardening, camping, and traveling are my hobbies. My father was in the US Navy when I was growing up, which led our family to move frequently. I have worked in corporate finance for many years. Through my company, I"ve had the opportunty to travel and see much of the world. We have lived in both Japan and Singapore. Four of our 5 children are married. Because we moved so often while the children were growing up, there is no one place that our family calls "home". Our 5 children currently live in 5 different states.

Why I am a Mormon

The full teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ are found in the Mormon Church, or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. More and more, the world seems to teach that there is no right or wrong, and there is no good or bad, and even that there is no sin. Adherence to these beliefs has let many of my friends and acquaintences down very unhappy paths. It has been my experience that I am much happer if I follow Jesus Christ, and stive to keep His commandments, and serve others. After much study, thought and prayer, the spirit of the Holy Ghost has testified to me that the Mormon church teaches the true doctrines of Christ. Most of those I have associated with in this church have demonstrated willingness to serve their fellow men.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as a Bishop in a congregation of young single adults. In this role, it is my responsibility to help organize our Sunday services as well as other activities throughout the week. I also have the opportunity to counsel with the members of our congregation regading matters of spiritual or temporal concern to them. This is not a paid position, as we have no paid clergy in the Mormon church. Rather, I have been called by regional leaders to serve in this capacity for a period of time. I continue to work during the day as a financial analyst, and devote time during the evenings and weekends to serving the young single adults of our congregation. After a period of time, I will be "released" from this calling, and asked to serve in another capacity in the church.
