Hi I'm Taryn

I live in Washington. I am married and have a little girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom for one very active and energetic little girl. She keeps me really busy these days, but I do enjoy reading a good book when I get some free time. I also enjoy going on a run in the mornings, and I honestly feel like mornings are the best part of everyday. My husband is currently serving in the U.S. Army, and so we have lived in the deep south of Georgia as well as the west coast. I have enjoyed each place that we have lived, in great part to the many wonderful people we have come to know. The military keeps us on our toes, but it has been a great opportunity thus far to experience new places and meet new friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints for all of my life. Since I can remember, I have always believed that this church was the true church. I later had the opportunity to teach English in China during college, and in order to qualify to go overseas I had to sign a contract that I would not discuss anything about my religious beliefs. It was in China that I realized how sad I was that I was not able to share with other people what made me so happy and was the biggest part of my life, and that was my religion. In great part to this experience in Asia, I had a desire to serve a mission for my church so that I could share the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. So that they too could find the joy in knowing all of the truths that God wants each of His children to know. I served an 18 month mission in Asuncion, Paraguay, and was blessed to teach as well as see many of our Heavenly Father's children be baptized into the church. I always felt so blessed and rich because I had the knowledge that God continues to speak to His children and direct them here on earth through a prophet. He called Joseph Smith to be a prophet to restore the same church Jesus Christ founded when He was on the earth

How I live my faith

I have recently been working with the young girls in our church ages 10 and eleven. We meet one day every other week for an activity. We have made crafts, learned new talents and skills, found ways to help and serve others, and also learned more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been such a neat and fun experience to work with these young ladies, and I always look forward to that time of the week when we meet together!
