Hi I'm Tyson

I'm a Mormon. I was born and raised in Idaho.

About Me

I love to excersize play football and I love the outdoors. I have worked on a farm since middle school. I am going to college but during the summer months I am working with a construction company. I have been through scouts and have acquired the eagle. I have been to philippines where i served an LDS misssion and i spoke the tagalog language.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church and we went to church every Sunday and never missed. During my teenage years i wanted to gain my own testimony and not live on the testimony of my parents any longer. I knelt by my bed everyday for a few weeks. Every night i would ask heavenly father if this is where i needed to be and if this was his true church. i repeated this process over and over. The answer to my pray came many days later and i remember as if it was yesterday.... I felt this calm assurance inside my heart and mind and for some odd reason i began to cry i knew at that moment that this is the true church. This single event gave me the strength to go and serve a mission in the Philippines for two years. i witnessed countless times the lives of people change just by adhering to the gospel and following the commandments the lord has set. I know that this gospel brings happiness and the road is not easy but i know the lord is there to help us through the trials that we have in our life. I know that Jesus Christ is our savior and that he died so we could live. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and that he was the instrument in the hand of God to bring back the fullness of the gospel so we could partake of the joy that it brings.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by one simple phrase that my parents told me everyday before i left the house andd that is "Remember who you are". No matter where i am at whether that be at work or with my friends i live the same way. Many people at my work (construction) notices that i am not like everyone else. I don't curse or use vulgarity. i appreciate them for being thoughtful and not saying such things around me. I take care of my home teaching families through simple acts of service. One family i taught was an elderly couple who one day was snowed in so me and my buddy jumped on the tractor and ATV. We cleared out their driveway without ever saying a word and ran home so they wouldn't know it was us... They later found out and rewarded us with the best tasting rice crispy treats i have ever tasted. As a young missionary int he Philippines we had a category 5 hurricane come over the city i was serving in. It destroyed many houses and the power was out for 5 weeks. The morning after the storm we went and helped clear roads build houses and give food to those in need. I am grateful for the opprutunity that the lord put in front me in my life to serve his children.
