Hi I'm Heidi

I'm a mom of 4. An avid reader. A photographer. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm rarely seen without a camera in my hand. I have always loved photography and finally started my own part-time photography business in 2010. I also love books, the beach, sunsets, A&W rootbeer, art museums, a good steak, and traveling. I spent 18 months as a missionary in Rome, Italy and loved every minute of it. Shortly after I graduated from college with a degree in humanities, I married my husband who works hard for our family as an engineer. We have 4 children ~ 3 boys and 1 girl who keep me busy but very happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who were already very strong Mormons. I was baptized at 8 years old and have always known that I made the right decision. When I was 17 I proved to myself that I was an active member of the church because it was what I wanted, when I spent a summer away from home and had to walk over 2 1/2 miles by myself just to get to church on Sunday. That summer I also read the Book of Mormon and prayed very hard to know that it was true. I got the sweetest feeling confirming to me that what I had already believed was indeed the truth.

How I live my faith

I have always enjoyed working with the youth in the church. I currently teach a Sunday School class every week to a group of 16-18 year olds. One of the neatest opportunities I had was when I spent a year teaching early-morning seminary, which was held at 6:00 am every school day. It was wonderful to spend time with students studying the gospel and reading the scriptures shortly before they headed off to high school. It is amazing to see their commitment and willingness to get up at that hour to receive their religious education.
