Hi I'm Alan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a grand father and life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I recently retired from 34 years of federal service as a soil scientist. I now keep occupied with family activities (my four children and their families live nearby), bicycle riding, backpacking, fishing, and a busy church calling.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I have been a member of the Mormon church all my life, I still had to come to the conclusion on my own that this church is true. Like many members of this church, this gaining of a testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored church came through personal revelation by reading the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon and praying about what I read. I received a personal confirmation that this church is true, Jesus Christ is our savior and redeemer, and that if I live my life according to His teachings, I can return to Him with my family.

How I live my faith

I try to live what I believe by teaching my family about this church, living by the teachings of our Savior and following the guidance of our living Prophet. I attempt to demonstrate this faith by accepting opportunities to serve others as a husband, father, grand father, friend, and church member I know I make mistakes, but I am encouraged by the opportunity to repent and be forgiven of my wrong doing.
