Hi I'm Ruth

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom. I have been home for 21 years. I have been able to spend time with my family, volunteer at schools and help others in my community. I like to get together with friends to walk and visit. I enjoy getting together with others to learn new skills and share the skills that I have. A dear friend has taught me how to quilt and I have taught her to bake bread. It is wonderful to spend time sharing life experiences and developing friendships. I have been happily married for 24 years, and look forward to many more wonderful years with my husband. It is has been a great adventure, and I appreciate all that I have learned from my husband. He is a great support to me and our kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was mormon. Although I was raised this way, there were a few years toward the end of high school that I really questioned and wondered what it was that I really believed. As I observed people from many walks of life, I was able to decide what I did and did not want in my own life. I began to pray more earnestly, and work on developing a relationship with my Heavenly Father. I began to rely on my Savior, Jesus Christ. I knew that I wanted to have a family of my own, one that would be together forever. I was blessed to meet my husband and marry him in the temple. Through the years I have learned to rely even more on my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to guide me through the ups and downs of life. Raising children has been very rewarding, but hasn't always been smooth. There have been some very trying experiences, and through those times I have learned to see my children as their Heavenly Father sees them. I have been blessed to realize that although I love them so intensely, their Heavenly Father loves them even more, and He has blessed me with added patience and devotion to ride out the difficult times. I love knowing that I am a daughter of a loving God. I love knowing that my Savior, Jesus Christ has made it possible for me to repent and to be more because of Him than I can make of myself.

How I live my faith

I strive to obey the commandments that we have been given. Daily prayer and scripture study help me stay strong in my devotion. I currently work with the young women in our ward (12-18 years of age). This gives me the opportunity to remember those times in my own life when I was deciding what I believed and the kind of person I wanted to be. Teaching lessons on Sunday and planning weekly activites is a great reminder to me that I am a daughter of God. I also find great peace in attending the temple.
