Hi I'm Karolyn

I grew up in Kansas, am a twin, have 10 siblings, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and twin. I work as a CAD operator. I enjoy sewing, crocheting, most crafts, movies, reading, and being with family and friends. I have 10 grandchildren and 1 great grand-daughter and 4 grand-dogs.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is the true Church. I know it because the Spirit has testified it to me many times. The first time I went to a LDS church, I was with a friend. I was not looking for another religion. I was happy in my church and believed that it was the true church. I went with a friend and could feel the Spirit before the service started. When the Sacrament was blessed I was filled with the Spirit. It kept coming in waves throughout most of the rest of the service. I was stunned! I called the Bishop later that day (I remembered his name) and told him what had happened and agreed to have the Missionaries come to my home the next night. When they came the next night, a prayer was said before we ate and I was filled with the Spirit again. Afterwards we went into the living room and one of them started talking about Joseph Smith seeing Christ and Heavenly Father in the grove and I was filled with the Spirit again. I knew the Spirit was testifying to me that what I was hearing was true and this was the True Church. I asked what it took to become a member. After setting up another meeting time for a first lesson, they wrote down some scriptures for me to read and in tearing out the page, tore it. I went into my kitchen to get some tape and heard them whispering. When I got back, one of them said that he felt the Spirit was saying that I was to be baptized on a specific date (2 weeks later) and when he said that, it felt like I was hit with a ton of bricks. I could hardly breathe, I could hardly speak but my mind was saying "YES!" I took the lessons, prayed about it, and was baptized on that specific date.

How I live my faith

I have been a Primary Teacher, on an Activities Committee, Ward Activities Chairperson, First Counselor in a Young Women's organization, a Visiting Teacher to numerous women, and President of the largest women's organization in the Ward. I spend time with my elderly Father and Step-Mother twice a week and help family and friends when my time permits it. I LOVE spending time with my Father and Step-Mother. I read the scriptures, tithe, attend Church regularly, and try to live what I believe. I believe in the 10 Commandments. I believe in Jesus Christ who is my Savior and Redeemer.
