Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired lawyer, a father of six children and grandfather of of 26. My wonderful family keeps me busy and entertained, and I find time for travel, reading, music (I love to play the trumpet), and wildlife-watching (especially birds).

Why I am a Mormon

My family has deep roots in Mormonism, going back several generations, yet I have not merely accepted without question the religious traditions of my ancestors. I have studied the doctrines and applied the principles taught by my church, and have fasted and prayed for the Lord's guidance to know for myself whether the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by my church is true. A deep and abiding assurance has grown in my heart that it is.

How I live my faith

Membership and participation in the church provides many opportunities for service to others and I have for a lifetime found fulfillment, satisfaction and fun, in working on church-sponsored community service projects, and in visiting families as a home-teacher, teaching church classes, serving in various church leadership positions, and teaching the gospel as a missionary. It has been my blessing as a single young man to serve as a missionary in Paraguay and Uruguay, and recently, along with my dear wife, as a missionary in Argentina. What a joy it is to know and share the blessings of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, to know of God's plan for us as His children, and to know that families can be together forever. I strive to follow our inspired prophet, keep God's commandments, and to maintain the love and unity within our dear family. Family home evening every week, daily family prayers and scripture study, fun family activities and service to others bless our family and bring me great Joy. I am very thankful for the teachings and blessings of membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and am so happy to be a Mormon!
