Hi I'm Nick

I grew up in New Mexico. I have been a Mormon for almost 20 years.

About Me

I was raised in a good Christian home. I enjoy the outdoors, music, football, and studying gospel principles. I also have to admit that I'm just a bit of a Harry Potter freak. I just got married a few months ago and I love being married more every day. I found the most wonderful wife and companion that a man could have. She completes me and I feel more blessed every day for her. I work for a reputable carpet cleaning business. I love working with people and performing work for them that they appreciate. It's hard work, but generally worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother has been a Mormon her whole life, so I have been familiar with the church my whole life. However, my father raised us in the Catholic religion. I never really questioned anything about the Mormon church, but never really thought much about it either. As a teenager, I was caught shoplifting at a local store. Later that evening, I started questioning where my life was leading and what I could do about it. I felt as though I should talk to a couple of friends about my concerns. They were twin brothers I had known and been good friends with for a few years. We started talking every day at lunch about life and religion. They told me that they were members of the Mormon church, but had not been to church in many years, but had recently become active again. We talked every day for several months and I came to know for myself that what they were telling me about was true. I found answers to questions I had had since childhood. I was intrigued that I could go to my Heavenly Father in prayer and find answers myself and truly know Him personally. I had to wait to join the church until I was 18. I got baptized on my 18th birthday. I later served a full-time mission in California. It was a joy to teach others of the joy that I found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to see many lives changed by His love. I have now been a member for nearly 20 years and I love learning more and more about the Savior and how much He truly loves us. I KNOW this church is true. It is beyond belief. I KNOW it. I know my Savior lives and that He is in control and as we follow Him, we have no need to fear. He will lead us back to our heavenly home if we but learn to hear his voice and follow what it speaks to us. My testimony of these things is my greatest treasure.

How I live my faith

I love being a member of this church. I have many opportunities to serve those of my congregation and community. I have served in many different capacities since joining the church. I have taught the youth, served as a leader in the Sunday School organization, and have served in the leadership of the men's organizations, among other responsibilities. I currently serve as a Family History Consultant. I help others start and continue with learning about their genealogy and family history. I also help those of my congregation be more excited to attend the Temple. In the temple we learn more about our purpose in this life and where we are going. We make sacred covenants with God which, if we are true to the covenants, will bless us in this life and in the next life. It is only in the Temple that we can be joined with our spouse for all eternity, not just for this mortal existence. This makes the relationship I have with my wife much more special. She is truly a gift from my Father in Heaven. I love the peace and hope this gospel brings me and I look forward to the things the Lord will have me do in the future to further His work and what I can learn through my service.
