Hi I'm Kristi

I am a Violinist who loves a good Brahms quartet and who loves a life as a momma even more. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished my Masters of Music in Violin Performance. I love playing chamber music, wedding gigs, fiddling, and just making music with anyone. In fact, that's how I met my husband. I was in a folk/rock band with his younger siblings. I am a proud mother of a little 1 year old. SHE ROCKS MY SOCKS. I teach violin out of my home a few days a week and then am with my little girl the rest of the time. We are living the residency life here in NE, while my awesome husband finishes up his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency. We prefer to be outdoors and on the move, whether it's camping, picnic-ing, tandem(+baby seat) bicycling, rollerblading, or anything else anyone throws at us. We love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Utah, in a Mormon household. Growing up, I felt I had a testimony of the church until a time of doubt in high school. I just wasn't sure of myself and the church. I didn't desire to rebel much, but I wasn't sure that I believed in the church. It wasn't until I decided on my own to read the Book of Mormon by myself and ask every night in my nightly prayers if it was true, I didn't receive an answer for quite awhile. I had almost given up. Then my recently returned missionary brother taught our Family Home Evening lesson one Monday night and I had this calming feeling take over me as he talked about the organization of the church and Jesus' time on earth. It all seemed to make sense. I felt at peace. After that Family Home Evening I went upstairs to my room and read a some scriptures that made a lasting impression on me, and I decided to ask one more time. I know that this church is true, and I am so grateful that I know. I feel it in my heart, my gut, and in my head. The gospel of Jesus Christ is upon the earth. The heavens are still open. We have a living prophet who helps guide us through this challenging life. The Book of Mormon is another proof, a testament of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I feel right inside when I live in accordance of this Gospel. I believe that my family will be together forever, and I'm thankful for that knowledge.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly trying to be a good example and follower of Christ. I know I'm not perfect, but I know I'm the happiest when I am trying to do what Christ would want me to do. In church, I serve as the children's singing time chorister. WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE TO BE! I now understand what Christ meant when He said, "Become like unto a little child." They are helping me more than I help them. Oh, and I'm one of the ward organists...a work in progress for me:)
