Hi I'm Juliana

I grew up in central California. I work in a field that helps children and families. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work for a program that works with families and children (prenatal - 3 years). I coach families in goal setting, parenting, good nutrition habits, relationships, and age appropriate activities for them to do with their children. I also teach children how to swim when I have the chance. I love teaching and seeing progress. It makes me feel so happy. I have wonderful parents who have set a wonderful example to me. I am the oldest of 4 sisters who I love dearly. They are my best friends. I enjoy being with friends, playing with family, learning simple easy crafty projects that bring the spirit into ones home, make nice gifts etc. I don't consider myself a competitive person, but I do enjoy playing a few sports just for fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life. However, when I was entering my teenage years. I started to realize that perhaps I was a member just because my parents are. I remember being given the challenge to go to a quiet place and ask Heavenly Father if The Church of Jesus Christ is true. I did and I felt this really good feeling that it was. That was many many years ago. There have been other questions/trials that have come up in my life that have made me sometimes question "Why Me", "This seems so hard, why do/did they/I need to go through this?" I have learned over and over that the Lord is there...if we let him enter by staying close to him through prayer and scripture study. I have felt his tender mercies so much even during my toughest times in life. I have received answers to so many questions that I have had. I just needed to do my part by praying to him serenely reading learning his gospel and my questions/hopes have been answered. It is always better than I could imagine...I just need to have to have Faith, Hope and Patience.

How I live my faith

I like how the church gives opportunities to so many at a very young age. I have heard that #1 fear of most people is speaking in public. Children in the church start speaking in public when they are in Primary. When they turn twelve they are usually asked to speak in church with all the congregation. Also when they turn 12 they are able to serve in callings in their youth groups (never paid for their time and efforts). As an adult those experiences have given me the opportunity to teach and lead the women in the church. I have been able to organize activities for Young Single Adults. Teach children lessons about the gospel on Sundays. It is always a great opportunity for me to learn and grow. Develop talents that I didn't even know I had.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Juliana
I think the Temple is the closest place to Heaven. It is a place were you can go and feel peace about the things going on in your life, a quiet place to go for making hard decisions and a place to feel comfort when going through your toughest times. Members of the church are encouraged to "be worthy" of that experience. Being worthy of that experience makes you a better person. We are all human. We all will make mistakes. The comforting thing to know is that our Heavenly Father loves all his children he sent his son Jesus Christ to atone for all our sins. Through The Atonement of Jesus Christ and as we learn about the Atonement through the repentance process ALL of us have the capacity to enter into the temple someday. Show more Show less
