Hi I'm David

I am originally from Oklahoma. I'm an audio/video guy. I have a wonderful wife and four beautiful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful family. My wife is the best spouse one could have. We have four great children, two boys and two girls. Our oldest son has autism and is the best story teller around. I love spending time with my family and serving others. I work for an audio/video design-build integrator. I started with them as a Project Engineer in 1996 and now I manage an office and oversee our Texas operations. You could say that I haven't 'worked' a day since then because I enjoy what I do so much. However, I am sure my wife thinks I don't 'work' way too much. Even though I live in Texas I am still an Okie in my heart. For those who don't know an Okie is someone from Oklahoma and proud of it.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the LDS church right before I was born. I grew up in the church and basically went to church because that is what I was told to do and that is where my friends were. I went to college for four years and was going to graduate in a year. Yes, that would be five years. I had a fun time in college. Up to this point in my life I believed this church was the true church but didn't really know for myself. My beliefs relied on others convictions and testimonies. It is encouraged that every young man after he turns 19 serves two years as a missionary for the church. I hadn't really given it much thought until I knew I had to make a decision. I only had one year left of college and knew that when I graduated I would begin a career and would not go on a mission. So I made two decisions at that time in my life. One, I needed to find out for myself if the church was true. Two, I would serve a mission for the church and delay finishing school until I returned. I received my mission call to go the Hawaii Honolulu Mission. Before I went to Hawaii I spent four weeks at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT. This is when I realized why I had not gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel yet. I had not up to then even read the Book of Mormon or even asked my Heavenly Father if it was true. Once I did read the Book of Mormon and prayed to ask if it was true that is when I received a witness through the Holy Ghost that in fact the book was truly the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. Since that time my testimony has grown leaps and bounds. Not because of what someone else is telling me to do but because I have found out for myself. Jesus is the Christ, He is my savior and my brother, my Heavenly Father loves me, I know Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and was called to be a prophet of God. I am not only a dedicated Mormon I am dedicated to Jesus Christ and his Church.

How I live my faith

I feel that serving others is very important and is what Christ taught when He was on the earth. First and foremost I serve and love my family. Our church gives every member opportunities to serve. I have been asked or called to serve in many different capacities for our church. I started out serving as a DJ for dances when I was a youth and a single adult. I have served the youth organization as a leader and teacher. I have served by planning and organizing activities and events. I have served in administrative and leadership roles. No matter what I am asked to do I will serve, even though I may feel inadequate to do so. I know that Heavenly Father will not ask me to do something I cannot accomplish. So I learn and pray to know the best way to serve.
