Hi I'm Ruben

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or some would call a Mormon and proud to be such.

About Me

I was born into the church. Raised in AZ, served a full time mission for the church in Hawaii. Came home and married my high school sweet heart in the Mesa Temple. We have three beautiful children. I am an avid outdoors man. Love to hunt, fish and scuba dive. My oldest dreams of doing most of the same things that I do. However, it is great to see the love and great desire it is to learn of the gospel of not just of my faith, but of others. She is constantly asking me questions of other faiths. She has help both my wife and I's testimony to grow. To continue to look to the Lord for answers. Some of the questions she has had made me really think about my testomony and how strong it is in the church. There has been times when she has stumped me, I had to really look for the answers. Other times I don't have the answer, but simply reply honey have you asked the Lord? In her sweet voice she will say no. I would remind her to always call on the Lord for help in guidance. What a sweet thing it is to have children in this era.

Why I am a Mormon

I am LDS because I believe in a living prophet. I believe that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and our beloved Son Jesus Christ. That the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. I believe that there is still a living prophet today, who talks to God and God talks to him.

How I live my faith

When I returned from my mission in Hawaii, my family I moved out of state. At which time my wife and I were called to be nursery leaders. What a fun calling that was especially for a newly weds. A few years later we had our first kid. Since then I have served in many different capacity for the church. There has been three callings that I have enjoyed since being called as a nursery leader and that is den leader for the cub scouts, then scout master for 5 glorious years and 2nd counselor in the young men program, and now as a varsity leader or 1st counselor for the Young Men program. It is such an honor to work with the youth. Not only in our church, but the youth as a community. It is fun to watch these young men and women grow in both Spirit and Statute. Some take the right path and others don't. But, those that fall we are always here to help them up.
